Narva-Olgina Air Gateway

Ida-Viru’s operational environment is changing. There is a new possibility to renew industry and create better connectivity with modern technology. Zero emission and dynamic aviation services are coming – this opportunity should be used. One of the ideas for improving transport and economic connections of Ida-Viru border region with other regions and countries is the development of regional airfield near Narva. The development includes business park development, aerodrome facilities and aviation services. These three functions create an ecosystem with other industrial parks that could significantly increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the entire region for new investments.

The Narva-Olgina Air Gateway project is the first stage in the development of a new state of art business park with the aerodrome.

The main activity of the project was the elaboration of a Feasibility Study for the future business park. The Feasibility Study describes the business model, calculates the socio-economic effect, describes the target customer groups and outlines the main marketing approaches.

The Feasibility Study was presented at the business seminar “Landing in Narva”, held in November 2023. The business seminar was attended by local entrepreneurs, representatives of local authorities, as well as international partners related to the development of regional aviation and infrastructure.

Other important achievements of the project were the new contacts and partnerships:

• Contacts with officials from various Ministries whose are responsible for approvals and permits related to the construction of aerodromes;
• Partnership with a similar regional aerodrome in South-East Finland. We plan to prepare a new joint project for the Central Baltic Program 2021-2027 to implement the activities described in the Feasibility Study;
• Negotiations with several entrepreneurs, our target clients for the Narva-Olgina business park & aerodrome.
